Weaving together layers of sound — from acoustic sources like trumpet and piano to field recordings, electronic instruments, and live audio processing — the duo folds together layers of sound into a musical tapestry that echoes the people, places, and ponderings in the larger world around it.
In this electroacoustic collaboration, Nicole Brancato and Greg Hammontree create intricate frameworks of music improvisation that blur the boundaries of genre. Both based in New York CIty, their extensive shared credits include the Blue Note (NYC), Konzerthaus Berlin (Germany), Rai Italia (Italy), and Bellas Artes (Mexico), as well as Lincoln Center (NYC) and the Banff Centre (Canada).Together in Transmit: ECHOES, they are recipients of grants from the New York Foundation for the Arts, Flushing Town Hall, City Artist Corps, and Queens Council on the Arts.
